DJT is a Japanese language 勉強サバンナ for フレンズ interested in the language, anime, manga, visual novels, light novels and Japanese video games. Japanese speakers learning English are welcome, too.
>looking at jlpt practice stuff >can understand a good amount of n2 reading >barely understand n5 listening all it takes is getting caught up on a single word for me to not understand anything
trying to practice with resources like 日本語の森 but it's always the same problem
What does your 彼女 think about your spending hours for learning this language which is seemingly nothing but the nexus for all the perverted contents in the web and your actually posting those anime pics in this board so regularly?
Hey I'm the one bullying you not the other way around
Anthony Sullivan
I'm sorry for your loss
Wyatt Hernandez
She is used to it by now. Also she liked Japan since we went there together on Holiday this year, but she doesn't want to make the commitment to learning the language (yet). We sometimes watch Anime together. She likes 青春ブタ野郎はバニーガール先輩の夢を見ない this season.
She is originally from Russia, so yes she is white. I wouldn't say she "likes" Anime overtly. Not in the sense of the white female Otaku. She only watches it with me usually, the only exception is ジョジョ where she watched Stardust Crusaders by herself (cause I had already seen it).
I like to think that these threads have been dead recently because people have been studying
Zachary Gutierrez
I don't accept your whinig. >could exchange conversation with my cowerker in US successfully (by phone), at least for me. >"Oh, eventually I got the mastery of English LISTENING in adittion to the ability to get what I mean across to them barely as well" >appeared that that American has good more than 10 years of experience of dealing with our Japanese Eng, rish. Why do YOU English speakers DO this? >In the previous thread one American user said >"When pronouncing "L", just lift your 舌の根元 to your 軟口蓋 and you can say any words so freely without choking yourself" >腹話術か? Why does any indivisual of you tell me indivisually discrete thing? Are you ENJOYING that? >my another coworker who has spent more than 3 years of his 20s in this country >"How much vocabulary have you built?" >"About 700" >"For kanjis?" >"No, for generic words" HOW COULD YOU LIVE HERE WITH IT? >"Hmm.. I found that some of you speak really passable Eng, rish" In the first place, WHY can't you just sit there and wait until SOME OF US eventually come to draw OUR hentais in OUR passable Eng, rish? You ENGLISH SPEAKERS are really NOT entitled to learn another language. It's arrogant.
I didn't mean that. When I said, all the girls I know are ugly or weird I specifically meant white people who I know I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've been just shit posting in other threads. While keeping Anki open in the background.
I'm not far enough for that feeling to matter I think. But from time to time I question why the fuck I'm even learning Japanese. I don't even watch anime anymore. The least I get from it, is that it keeps my mind busy and it feels nice to read random sentences I come across and actually understand them
I am afraid to tell you the Pole below you gave really persuasive example. >貴様らごときが私を倒すとは >likely to be said but the guy effectively conceded so it could be not so plausible enough. >貴様らごときが何をできるか >a kind of cheap same old phrase but actually he got beaten so it sounds silly.
Joseph Bennett
>I don't even watch anime anymore Me neither, but I always enjoyed VNs more anyway
Levi Williams
need to learn Japanese because I have acquired a Japanese GF
>originally from Russia >なんか納得 Why are Russian women always that permissive, I mean motherly? Is it my silly misconseption? And why are women in general more ardent to learn the language of the place they are living than men? Am I getting it all wrong as well?
Is watching namasensei actually a good idea or not? He's entertaining and motivating but he also teaches quite slowly and isn't very effective, sometimes ommitting entire portions of what he's supposed to be teaching
I thought as much. Thank you. I didn't feel like the voiced portion really matched the line itself (they sounded very angry), so I was unsure.
Ian Ward
Not really but I still remember the TE form shit he showed. So I guess that's useful youtu.be/wQlq-hxWRzQ
Sebastian Kelly
>Is watching namasensei actually a good idea no, why would you even think that
William Butler
I don't know what you mean with permissive or motherly in this case. Essentially she grew up in Germany already so it's not much of a noticable difference.
Jace Hill
I thought he's an obnoxious kid, but maybe I'm just too old.
>want to keep learning moon runes >too drunk and tired to form new memories properly oh oh damn oh くそ
Cameron Cooper
He's a product of his time really, not much different from an encyclopedia dramatica article or somethingawful thread from the same time period. The juvenile F carpet-bombing and potato setup of his are endearing and motivating in their own right.
My eyesight is shit so I'm worried that when I start trying to learn kanji I'll have to get very close to my monitor and squint to be able to see the kanji properly, will that happen?
Tyler Hughes
you know you can increase font sizes on digital devices right?
Daniel Fisher
What about getting some glasses
Matthew Martin
Changing the default font size in firefox doesn't change the size of most text though, now some text just looks disproportionately huge compared to the rest. I already wear glasses, though I haven't had them upgraded in quite some time now. Hopefully new glasses will make them easier to read.
Sebastian Ross
Ctrl+scroll wheel you dumbass
Austin Ramirez
How wrong am I?
Luis Roberts
All wrong
Elijah Davis
>german >english >japanese >russian What is the best fifth language to learn? Chinese and spanish speaking people are mostly subhumans so I don't want to learn their language.
「ルールなんて関係ありません!お前は俺にぃ~~ 殺されるべきなんだー!」 what's Frieza saying when he's chimping out about the rules at the start? The second bit is like "you must be killed by me!!!" I'm just not too sure what なんて does when added after nouns in this sort of context really
Chase Hill
things like rules have nothing to do with it なんて is like "such a thing as" it comes from などと, as in ルールなどというもの
Adam Walker
arabic
Parker Evans
I rather get beheaded than learn a language with retarded symbols again.
Robert Nguyen
Learn one that isn't connected to indo-european languages.
Connor Brown
In that case go for french.
Carter Jenkins
How long do you think German would take to learn as an English speaker?
Daniel Morales
German is easy mode for an english speaker. One third of the efforts of your japanese studies for double the results. Learning another european language has indeed no appeal at the moment. Russia already provides all the godlike literature I would ever need.
Nathan Reyes
Given you're German and don't want to know Chinese or Spanish (and presumably Portuguese), I'd say either French or Turkish is most useful. It's probably better to learn to be less shitty at Russian and Japanese first though.
Wyatt Fisher
I'm not german, I just work here. I don't see why turkish would be of any use but I must say the turkish people are well immigrated here, very friendly compared to the other arabic nations here which are mostly subhumans.
Lucas Fisher
Turkey's a fairly big country population-wise, and a big portion of central asia speaks a language distantly related to turkish. They are a little closer to first world than most other languages you could learn. The grammar is close to Japanese from what I hear.
Not that amazing, but you've already learned or rejected the big languages.
Matthew Anderson
I guess there just isn't another russia or japan, countries so rich in culture, quality content and decent people that it's almost a must to know the language.
I don't get it. Why is grammar supposed to be worse than Kanji?
Eli Diaz
kanji is just a matter of recognition (if you don't know it, you can easily look it up), difficult grammar can fuck you over no matter how long you look at a sentence.
Evan Bell

I've already worked through genki 1. I just don't have any motivation to grind through vocabulary words on anki
Jason Myers
I am in no way able to finish this but what is happening with 娑羅雙樹? I can only find 沙羅双樹. I guess the former is just an old word because 双 and 雙 share the same onyomi.
Adam Rodriguez
Then change your choice of words. You 'can' learn Japanese, you just 'choose' not to.
