How do you define your borders, then? Rivers?

Rivers and all sorts of historical county and parish borders. For example the border between Estonia and Latvia was set so that if a parish had more than 50% ethnic Estonians it would go to Estonia and vice versa. Those parish borders are still in use today
Makes sense. I never really know how borders are drawn in younger countries or countries with recent borders.
Here we used mountain peaks in the North and rivers in the South, but since most of our Border is unpopulated on either side, so it mostly came down to the width of the original county (and Galicia) stretched to the south during the reconquista by the nearest landmarks.
