DJT is a Japanese language learning shitposting thread, for people that are interested in shitposting about the Japanese language, anime, manga, visual novels, light novels and Japanese video games. Japanese speakers learning English are welcome, too. (proxy fags)
Garbage post, I didn't learn anything new from it.

I would if I didn't just start to learn 4 months ago. No one would benefit from me producing grade school sentences and talking about my daily life in basic Japanese.
Apart from that I don't see the benefit of trying to construct more complex sentences with a lot of vocabulary lookup and then they're very likely wrong and will reinforce bad habits instead of helping to learn. I have my resources to learn from where I can see what mistakes I make and for now that's enough.
Grayson Kelly
Well, I can't argue with that. But I see some people here spending years trying to memorize some increasingly obscure kanji in a visual novel rather than actually learning the language, because it doesn't take them out of their comfort zone
Hunter Morris
Don't do a lot of vocabulary lookup I mean, by the way. Try to say what you can using the words you actively know. You will be very limited but that is what it is like in a real conversation
Jeremiah Mitchell
To add to this: The fact that I can read what you've written without having to look up more than one vocabulary per sentence where I could barely read こんにちは 4 months ago tells me that it's working.

what percentage is needed to pass n5? got 65% on a mock exam.

100%
Easton White
If you're at a level where you would barely pass N5 today why not aim for N3 or at least N4 within a year instead?
Taking the N5 isn't really an achievement. Basically equivalent to taking an entry level college class.

*書くこと it should be attributive form.

i havent studied in a long long time, 3 years i think. i mean i guess i could aim for n4 or 3, i wasnt actively pursuiting it.
It very well may be indeed a sound argument dear sir.

Because we learn a language just to consume porn and other garbage. We are productive just to be degenerate.

everyone in my class was chinese already, so they all breezed through learning kanji and what not. group projects fucking sucked being the only person speaking english. youd have to be autistic to comtinue that sort of a course
Owen Kelly
Do you mean HiNative or something? Tbh, I am thinking over it. BTW, what outcome did you get for your JLPT anons? I got my English test on the very same day of that and could achieve decent score, at least for writing. >it's the bottom of upper 20% while the other is that of upper half. Thank you for letting me post in this thread and others as well. And posting here in Japanese is actually what I am asking anons here to do occasionally, as even for us to have natives have conversations or correct our writings would cost more than 3000yen per hour, so how much would it be up to when it comes to them? I see some of anons, who seem having been so diligent in learning for years, making errors while posting in Japanese and it's so regrettable not notifying them of it.
I used to use hello talk until I got spammed with dozens of ugly japanese women, now I have been just ignoring their messages for like 2 months now and I don't want to log in cause then they'll see that I ignored their messages

I took a Japanese course early on in college and I got an A in it. It was mainly learning basic verbs, the kana, and some kanji. Numbers and telling time as well. It’s been a while and I need to refresh on these things; however, what’s the best way to advance from here? Anki?

I remembered like 80% of the first 100, could be worse I've encountered very few of these words while reading though
There's a class of adjectives that most grammar guides don't go over called tari-adjectives. They're marked as (adj-t,adv-to) in EDICT entries.
Whereas na-adjectives take に as adverbs, tari-adjectives take と. 綺麗に 堂々と
And directly before a noun, tari-adjectives take たる. 綺麗な人 凛たる声
But the たる ending is somewhat archaic and it is also common to use ~とした (adverb form plus する in past tense) instead. 凛とした声
In Japanese these words are called タルト活用 or トタル活用 because they take either と or たる. In classical Japanese there were two classes of na-adjectives: nari-adjectives that ended in なり and tari-adjectives that ended in たり. The なり-type evolved into the modern na-adjectives, while the たり-type became these modern tari-adjectives. But the tari-adjectives were a much smaller group of words and now new ones are never added. While the na-adjectives maintain the much more robust range of conjugations, like 綺麗だろう, 綺麗だった, 綺麗だ, etc., the tari-adjectives only have the two conjugations: 堂々と and 堂々たる. They are always on-yomi kanji words and are often doubled, like 堂々, 凛々, 濛々, etc.

Depends on how text heavy it is. I haven't really played any pokemons after the Red one. So I feel like you spent too much time doing other stuff on it too. 20-40mins of battling pokemons for 3 lines of Japanese.
It’s one of classical na-adjectives. Basically, when you come across words , especially comprised of kanjis, which end “たる” or “なる”, you can speculate that they are old adjectives in attributive forms. >and their terminal forms are “たり” and “なり”. You may see them in your games and VNs and so on, as it sounds kind of cool especially for teens.

Alice in Shit Land
continued
In another moment went Alice after it, never once considering how in the shitty world she was to get out again.
The rabbit-asshole went straight on like anti-gay for some way, and then a huge brown ball which is bad smelling is coming to her backward. She runaway, and her forward dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Alice had not a moment to think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very bad smelling deep anus.
Either the anus was very deep and bad smelling, or she fell very slowly and bit feel urine, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen of the book's next which is had her sister, that the book on the pictures of hagging naked man and woman on the bed, and think of situation of now. First, she tried to look down and make out she can release the urine, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the anus, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she throw the plates and the cups to the sides of the anus. She took down a magazine from one of the shelves as she passed; it was written titled "PLAYBOY", but to her great disappointment it was not has the pictures of haveing sex: she did not like to drop the magazine for fear of killing fag or gay, so managed to put it into one of the book-shelves as she fell past it.
