Cuba used to be very white, but after the revolution most of those whites moved to Florida. Blacks, mulatos and some whites stayed in the island.
The majority of genetic studies only take samples from Cubans in Florida.

Where are the samples from? Selection bias could be a big factor if they're from consumer genomics. For instance, the American Cuban diaspora is probably whiter than the average Cuban, and they may comprise a disproportionate share of the data.

cuba is still overwhelmingly white, like 60% of the population identifies as white and there is no reason to believe they are any different from the white cubans in florida
there was never much intermarrying in cuba, to this day cuban blacks and whites are pretty "pure", and there are not many self identified mulattos
