Milan is beautiful, at least the city center. But everything outside of that is pretty dirty and - without being racist - I felt pretty threatened by the masses of Africans in the city center. There are 3 of them on every corner trying to sell you selfie sticks or shit like that. And even worse are the ones that don't sell things and just sit around on benches, especially in the night.
Generally a beautiful city, no doubt, but there are some clear downsides.
