It is. The Russians/Soviets give horrible training and their aftermarket support and maintenance is extremely unreliable. Brazil and Mexico have had extremely hard times getting parts for their Mi-24s, Mi-8 and Mi-26 helicopters and Malaysia is already grounding their Russian fighters because Russia has been terrible about parts and maintenance. Also look into the nightmare that is the Su-57/HAL project. It was to be an Indian development of the new Su-57 but India got pissed after pouring billions into the program that it still wasn't fully stealth, was unreliable and the correct engines still don't work right and these were supposed to me in mass service by 2015 kek.
sounds like the f35
Well if your main task is to give something to someone in excange for loyalty and not to sell something you couldn't care less about your product image

Any comparisons between US + Western European hardware and Russian hardware will always flatter the former two simply because Russian hardware is famously used by poor shitholes everywhere.
In some cases, you have things like Rimon 20 which showed that adequately trained Israeli pilots flying western equipment roundly humiliated elite soviet pilots.
>Brazil and Mexico have had extremely hard times getting parts for their Mi-24s, Mi-8 and Mi-26 helicopters
Mexico doesn't hacve Hinds but their Hips have been flying for decades. I think their MI-26s are retired now. It doesn't matter though because they're replacing all of their helicopters with American and Euro stuff because they want to modernize and to them that means better electronics, sensors, and weapons than the Russians offer. idk about Brazil.

I didn't mention it, but got to it
