K my stock is matching but there's no nosecap, leaf or mag. Is this an unmatched rifle?

It's stamped 1984 on the bolt, possible rearsenal/refurbish involved?

I doubt it would be a refurb as late as 1984, and refurb info went on the receiver, not the bolt. Was the 1984 crossed out in any way, could be an old serial number.

I wouldn't consider it unmatched. I hate to admit I dont know a lot about aussie production, but I think they stopped putting serials on minor parts simply to simplify production and field service.

It's on receiver and bolt, not crossed out. I'm fairly certain it's an 8 but could be a 6.

Thanks brah, that's exactly what I need.

I know later on they stopped numbering the nose caps, but I don't know when. Magazines weren't numbered.

Lithgow used assembly numbers to match the bolt and receiver during production before the gun was serialized. On the part of the receiver that the bolt covers should have the same number.
