Would you buy a multi-shot big bore air pistol? How much would you pay? Pic related is a .30 caliber CO2 pistol with a 7 shot magazine. A guy on the canadianairgun forums made it. Using two CO2 cartridges (at once) it can empty two magazines. The guy sold it for only $300. Only gets around 21 ft.-lbs. though. I'm going to build a similar one that runs high pressure air. Quackenbush made 9mm ones that did ~100 ft.-lbs muzzle energy for 3 shots, I should be able to get 7 decent shots with twice the air capacity. Not bad for something you could CC in any state.
I already built myself a suppressed .30 air rifle based off the same design (the Benjamin Discovery). The market for big bore airguns seems to be growing, for whatever reasons. I've been obsessed with them for years and have seen the number of big bore airgun manufacturers steadily grow, including several small businesses.
Feel free to post any badass airguns you have or know of. And tell me what you think about big bore airguns being used for self defense. It'll end in more regulation, won't it?
There's some badass PCP guns that will shoot clean through a wild boar. Fucking neato, and they get around a number of laws. I really want one.

Pic related is the .30 cal I built. Should do around 100 ft.-lbs. haven't checked yet. Stock is detachable and will have a bigger second air tank hanging under it eventually.
Right! Quackenbush has pics on his site of a Bison that was taken with one of his rifles, the .58 I believe. I'm going to buy one of his .58 pistols soon, put a new breech on it and 3D print a magazine for it similar to the modified Marauder magazines I use for my .30
Not gonna lie, that built in pump sure is appealing. I saw one that someone converted to .30, and there are .25 conversions too of course. I even saw someone add a reservoir to make it more like a PCP. Hatsan makes a single shot break barrel springer in .30 cal that makes me wonder if a pistol version could be made. It only has 30 ft.-lbs so a pistol wouldn't do great probably.
Airguns definitely have great SHTF appeal. Pump your own air, cast your own bullets. Good luck making your own reloading powder that is actually consistent and safe in a SHTF scenario! Save your real ammo for when you really need it.

>he doesn't use potato caliber
WEAK
Jaxson Edwards
Check out this stainless .30 cal sex machine some guy made. God damn.
What kind of printer do you have? I've been meaning to recalibrate mine
Aaron Reed
Somewhere I have the plans to a pump action potato/tennis ball cannon. Need to dig those out
Carter Barnes
I'm currently in the market for one actually, don't own one yet. The .30 cal magazines I use are from airgunlab.com but FUCK I just noticed they closed up shop. Guess I'll need that printer sooner than I thought.
Josiah Parker
Sounds neat. Potato cannons are dope because most are combustion powered. I've always wanted to experiment with a propane powered "airgun" much like the tipman c3 propane paintball gun. It got 40,000 shots from a 1lb propane tank. They make those nail guns that are combustion powered and some guy invented a variable velocity less than lethal weapon that adjusted velocity to be safe but effective at multiple ranges by adjusting the amount of fuel used. So it must be possible. Too bad they stopped making the c3, it'd be perfect to start a prototype with.

Pic related is the Caselman air machine gun. There are videos online of it firing full auto. He made a few calibers including .40 cal. Never manufactured them commercially but he sold the plans. It only ran 1,000 psi and put out about 130 ft.-lbs. With beefed up parts and running 4,500 psi it'd be ever crazier. Might be more powerful with a gas operating locking bolt of some kind like the FX revolution. He created it with the intention of creating a more self-reliant and less regulated alternative to firearms, for freedom and freedom related purposes.
It's propane powered, the plan is a metered cylinder and some solenoid valve stem for a perfect air:fuel ratio every pump, along with a brushless fan to evacuate the combustion chamber when the breech is pulled back. And that paintball gun is freakin neato, wonder why they stopped making them.

Pic related is a single shot .357 with 100 ft.-lbs. BUT it's also a very special airgun because it uses miniature HPA cylinders like cartridgers (like an upgraded version of the Brocock cartridges).
Heres a .72 cal air rifle pulling ~1,000 ft.-lbs with a ~1,000 grain projectile at ~1,000 fps. So basically a 12 gauge rifle running on 4,500 psi. It's made by xp-airguns.com
What the fuck? Neat, they look like boolets. 3 or 4k psi? It'd be a piece of cake to carry those around. Wonder how long it would take with a hand pump to fill them. Reusable?
Xavier Foster
Oh and it's made by innovairtech btw. I just found them yesterday.
Pic related is .50 cal PCP pulling 400 ft-lbs. Single shot but DAMN. It's called the Luftluger, for obvious reasons. Same dude started making a semi-auto .50 cal rifle too but I there's been no updates in years and I can't find much on the guy.
4,500 psi. Reusable. They're working on revolvers that use even smaller cylinders, too!
Nathan Foster
My dick. I had no idea this stuff was being developed.
Landon Barnes
Too bad it seems theres none for sale on the site.

>cast your own bullets why bother you can get 23,567 shots for the price of a hamburger
Bentley Morales
>Airguns definitely have great SHTF appeal
Xavier Green
That's cool as fuck
Bentley Hughes
You buy them beforehand homie. And as far as looting goes pellets are everywhere and super low priority
Chase Cook
bloke on the range had a few of those before his youtube got killed. They fired a plastic reusable projectile.
Eli Rogers
That penetration thing is absolute bullshit. It wouldn't even go through 1/2 of 1000 series (Essentially pure) aluminum.
Jacob Mitchell
>Crosman(Remington) >Shtf reliable Choose one
Isaiah Wood
Yeah 1/2" my ass. That's sheet metal over a typical bullshit light wood
Ryan Peterson
>Would you buy a multi-shot big bore air pistol? sure, but it depends >How much would you pay? Not as much, or near as much as I would pay for a firearm. Maybe I guess I wouldn't buy an airgun since hipoints are sub $150, and are better than any airgun.
Leo Ward
I don't think we are talking about the same thing
Eli Gonzalez
>crosman >remington
Pick one
Brayden Young
Great just great, as if I don't have enough cool shit to waste my money on.
Jose Bailey
ive owned 3 of these. Dont expect to get more than 1000 pumps without repairs
