Somewhere I have the plans to a pump action potato/tennis ball cannon. Need to dig those out
Airguns- the big bore kind
I'm currently in the market for one actually, don't own one yet. The .30 cal magazines I use are from airgunlab.com but FUCK I just noticed they closed up shop. Guess I'll need that printer sooner than I thought.
Sounds neat. Potato cannons are dope because most are combustion powered. I've always wanted to experiment with a propane powered "airgun" much like the tipman c3 propane paintball gun. It got 40,000 shots from a 1lb propane tank. They make those nail guns that are combustion powered and some guy invented a variable velocity less than lethal weapon that adjusted velocity to be safe but effective at multiple ranges by adjusting the amount of fuel used. So it must be possible. Too bad they stopped making the c3, it'd be perfect to start a prototype with.
Pic related is the Caselman air machine gun. There are videos online of it firing full auto. He made a few calibers including .40 cal. Never manufactured them commercially but he sold the plans. It only ran 1,000 psi and put out about 130 ft.-lbs. With beefed up parts and running 4,500 psi it'd be ever crazier. Might be more powerful with a gas operating locking bolt of some kind like the FX revolution. He created it with the intention of creating a more self-reliant and less regulated alternative to firearms, for freedom and freedom related purposes.
It's propane powered, the plan is a metered cylinder and some solenoid valve stem for a perfect air:fuel ratio every pump, along with a brushless fan to evacuate the combustion chamber when the breech is pulled back.
And that paintball gun is freakin neato, wonder why they stopped making them.
Pic related is a single shot .357 with 100 ft.-lbs. BUT it's also a very special airgun because it uses miniature HPA cylinders like cartridgers (like an upgraded version of the Brocock cartridges).
Here are the rounds in a bandolier next to one of their rifles. They're about the size of a .50 cal shell. Firing .40 cal they can put out 145 ft-lbs.
>it uses miniature HPA cylinders
Pics or sauce? Never seen a small one before
And here is their old multi-shot version. It's out of stock but their shorter version is on the way apparently.
Sorry for the potato quality images I grabbed them off google real quick
