Moore was a shit candidate to begin with. Outside his core support from the diehard bible thumpers his voter appeal drops like a rock. His record as a jurist is lackluster, he's more known for his political grandstanding than anything, and he barely bothered to elucidate his campaign platforms. Luther Strange could have beaten Moore in the primary, and in all likelihood Doug Jones in the general election, but was too tainted by the Robert Bentley scandal.
