Which would you get? I know you guys say Mini Thirty’s have ftf issues with steel case but I also hear that 300blk is a meme. So if you were to choose between the two which would it be?
Ruger Mini Thirty vs Mini 14 in 300 Blackout
blackout, saw off the barrel, thread the end, attach oil filter, bury in yard
Huh that’s actually a fantastic idea
I would like to correct the record, mister alphabet agency man. Oil filters are for cars.
>use non-tryhard gun to shoot tryhard cartridge
why?
Mini 14 in 5.56
Thirty and fix the ftf issues with a file, unless ruger has already implemented the fixes
What the fuck is try hard about 7.62x39?
That’s what I’m thinking
just get 7.62x39
.300memeout is tryhard.
how so?
>ftf with steel case
Huh. I've never used anything but steel in my mini-30.
I have a 181 series mini-30 from 25 years ago. I had to dremmel and buff the non-existant feed ramp due to the fact the gun was engineered to only feed from OEM 5 rnd mags. I hope the 500 series is better. I suggest a stainless Mini so that corrosive ammo is less of a concern
I personally would get a Mini 30 in 7.62x39 because I have 2 rifles in that caliber already and a shit ton of it.
Ah ok I thought you were saying they both were
That’s good to hear
I’ve heard they are much better but would get stainless anyway
Part of the reason I made this thread is because I wanted to see people’s general opinions because I didn’t want to just be swayed by something similar- I already have the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 and a couple Mini Thirty mags for it. So the comparable magazines is really the main thing for me. Seeing as most people seem to think it’s overall a better choice over the 300blckout is extra reassurance for me.
>comparable
Compatible
Mini-14 in .300BLK I suppose.
If you collect and convert your .223 brass, it'll work great for reloading.
They sell suppressor ready ones.
Fuck off, spergboy.
Pre-2005 rifles are pretty wonky and shoddy, the difference between them and 580 or 581 series rifles are like night and day.
Well if you already have the magazines and the ammo, that's definitely more appealing.
The .300BLK is more interesting if you're also interesting in suppressing it.
Id get an AR15
I built a G3 clone for about the same price as a new mini 14. I guess I'd recommend buying three AR15's or building a G3 clone.
If i was forced to choose between the soviet chambered boomer rifle or the meme chambered boomer rifle, I'd probably choose death by auto-erotic asphyxiation. Maybe that's what happened to David Carradine.
OP here, I wasn’t asking what reddit’s advice would be.
I thought reddit would just say git a fudd gun like a mini ferteen, aint nobody trying to ban the mini ferteeeein, except when they are.
Get the Mini 14
A Mini is not a fudd gun you mongoloid
You say that, but any time I see a mini fuddy at a range, I know I'm going to get hard stares. Not at first, when I start with my SKS. It starts the second I pull out a rifle with one of 'dem devil pistol grips that just ain't for huntin.
That never happened.
What a retort. Is that the same as just saying "No U R"? It's as effective.
Probably the best thread for this:
Does anyone know of a caliber that shares the same rim diameter with .223 but in a higher caliber? Other than .300 blackout of course.
It doesn't have to be a bottlenecked "rifle" cartridge. I'd be happy with a pistol caliber too.
I'm working on building a .223 jungle carbine and would like to see if other calibers are possible.
No, I am saying that you are full of shit. You also type like a teenager. You can not like Minis because you like ARs more, you think they are over priced or any number of reasons. But they are not fudd guns and no one who ownes them is triggered by pistol grips. Now I am done talking to you, it is too late for day/k/are
Who said anything about me having an AR? They are super cheap right now, but I've got other things needing my money.
if you want to run it suppressed, go with 300 BLK. Any other purpose go with 7.62x39.
I still can't believe Mat Lauer raped that Mini 14.
Not going to be running it suppressed. Thanks, I am gonna go with 7.62x39
kek
7.62x39, because it'll still be available and in production two years from now, unlike .300 Memeout, 6.8x43 Special Memecatridge, 6.5mm Memedel, and all these other fucktarded special snowflake cartridge-of-the-week shit that's going to be gone and forgotten in a few years.
I am aware that the Mini in 7.62x39mm no likey steel case ammo. So I would shoot brass case in it, and look for deals to stock up on relatively inexpensive Prvi, Igman, or Seller & Beillot brass-case 7.62x39mm.
If I had to choose one, that is.
But I will choose neither, because when I want to shoot cheap steel case 7.62x39mm ammo, I get out the SKS I bought for that purpose. Now what?

Thanks for the advice

like I mentioned before, I have a Ruger Ranch in 7.62x39 with a few Mini Thirty mags. That thing shoots steelcase fine so I can run the cheap shit in that and stock up brass case for a Mini.
.
Fuckin' FBI niggers always creepin'....
.22tcm is a cut down .223 sized to fit in .38 super mags. You can also cut .223 to make 7.62 tokarev. That's all I can think of right now
I just want a Mini that takes STANAG mags...
The boomer14 is best purchased in 5.56
I would have gone with the Mini 30. I already have a 14 in .223 so that's naturally the next one to get. Like FPBP wrote I would only go for .300 Memeout if I was going to put a can on it.
This post really shoots muh doggo
Neither. If the 30 can't shoot steel cased then it's near useless because most 7.62x39 is steel cased. I would rather get a SKS (yes even with current prices).
As for 300 Blackout, it has it's uses but it's generally for short barrel /short overall length rifle. So I wouldn't get a Mini 14 in 300 Blackout unless you were somehow getting ammo for real cheap and can't own a AR.
300 blackout's main selling points are it's usage in short barrels (which the Mini 14 doesn't have), it's compatibility with the AR platform (which the Mini doesn't have), and the fact that you can take your old split 5.56 cases and cut them down to 300 blackout length. The only reason to buy a Mini 14 in 300 blackout would be if you lived somewhere where you can't own AR's.
Also, mini mags are expensive compared to AR mags.
.223 is almost the same case dimensions as a 9mmx19
