I'm absolutely positive if you walked up to some random fucking normie and asked, "What are the shortcomings of 5.7?"

They'd likely not even know what you were talking about much less know enough to denounce it's viability.

That's why it's just a metaphor

What do you mean by this?
How are they sketchy?

Pros:
>Was on Miami Vice
>60 grain 2400 FPS ammo available
>Can get crazy amounts of energy out of it
>More capacity than .45
>Better penetration than .45
>Bren Ten and Tanfoglio Witness are the best looking guns ever made
>Glock makes a compact 10mm in case you want power comparable to .357 in a gun small enough to fit in your pocket
>10mm glocks can fire .40 S&W if you want to look like a cool 10mm patrician but don't actually want to shoot 10mm
>It's cheaper than .357 sig last I checked

Cons:
>Recoil
>Expensive ammo
>Bren Tens cost as much as a used car
>If you ND you blow your house up

recoil out of a stock Glock 20 is not that bad, it's easily handle able

>compared to .45
far superior
>how common is this ammo
rarer than .357 Sig, and the wide majority of it is grossly underloaded. Most commercial 10mm ammo is just .40 SW ballistically. You have to spend big money or re-load to experience real 10mm
if you want a badass cartridge that is pretty available and isn't too expensive, go .357 Sig.
10mm is worth it if you're a re-loader.

10mm recoil isn't bad. Yeah, it kicks more than the other semi-auto rounds, but it's not scary or difficult to shoot.
The main drawback of 10mm guns, especially 10mm Glocks is the size of the grip. It's fucking massive and difficult to hold comfortably if you don't have giant hands.

I have a bunch of 10mm glock mags, and they're noticeably thicker than all my .40 ones.

The 10mm versions are really new, don't know anyone that has one. 1911 10's have a bad history of being high wear pistols with frame strength issues. The Sig and Ruger models seem to last better than Delta Elites. Your options for non-1911's are kind of slim. The only good poly is still the Glock 20 and 40.
