Not a 1911

> 9mm
> 1911

Just get a hi power. Basically the same design but with double the capacity and lighter.

Don't be a dumbass and get a 9mm 1911.

What is the functional difference?

Pretty much everything other than vague looks.

If by "best price" you mean most expensive

Then the Nighthawk-Agency Arms 1911 got you covered

I read that the hi power can't handle +p/NATO loads though.

Forgot to mention that 1911's in 9mm make me sick and that you should kill yourself

>HUuUuUuUuRRrR get a hipower!
Nogunz on a war path I see.

I've got a Springfield loaded 1911 9mm. I like it a lot. It is never going to be my carry gun or whatever but it is fun.

You are welcome.

A Hi-Power

them rock island jobbers. Pick one.

oh fuck off. Who carries a 1911 as a ccw? If "stopping power" is really your biggest concern, what kind of fucking situation are you going to be using this in?

Maybe if you're in BEAR COUNTRY or MOOSE but if you're just shooting for fun a smaller caliber is just easier and more accurate. Also, if it shares the same ammo type as your other guns that makes it so much more convenient than having to get 45auto JUST for your 1911.

I want one in 9mm just because I have to carry less ammo types.

Lol no, you've never heard of Cabot have you?

Fyi lord J.M.Bs intention was a 38 caliber pistol. It was only the us army that made 45. A requirement.
And we know from history that the US always chooses the wrong caliber to standardize

38 super/9mm 1911 is what it should have been

Springfield is making some of the best models. But if we go down the Hi-power path we wind up looking at CZ's and such.

I just picked up a Sig TacOps 1911 with threaded barrel for maximum LARP

i didnt think 1911s came in 9mm which is why i clicked on thread, thought .38 super was as close as it came

aside from going 10mm the best high firepower option for ccw these days is a hotloaded .45 because both will be firing at .357 magnum level.
But all you need for it in a 1911 is a 20 pound recoil spring, which could still fire +P ammo reliably if you were too lazy to switch the spring back out for the original.
I didnt see any 10mm on the ammo shelf at walmart the last time I looked so that means if you're ordering ammo you could just as well order .45 super.

with a capacity of 8 and single stack mags that are thin enough to easily carry spares its alot more effective than using an actual .357 revolver (16 or 24 you can put downrange quickly)

Browning shot himself in the foot proverbially by testing calibers on cattle at a stock yard and finding that .45 caliber was marginally more effective at taking down the cattle. Which is a wound channel and bleed-out issue, it doesnt have anything to do with stopping power. So then everyone else thought that was great and put a stamp of approval on it.

In fairness, out of the longer barrel of a thompson the 45 is more effective downrange than a 9mm is, but we're not talking pistol ranges at that point.

38 caliber would be great if it was actually 38 caliber (that is, 9.65mm) because with enough firepower behind it thats the best of both worlds between a 9 and 10.
