Is this true?

Russian gear is better than western gear
Yes/No?

Ratnik kit is a a shitty knockoff of mid 2000s US gear so what do you think?

Not really, all of their spec ops are using western gear or copies of western gear for a reason. That digiflora sure is sexy though.

I think the real question is, why does no one make blued guns anymore, and yet every other gun on the market is parkerized? Why shouldn't I be able to buy a gun that is more resistant to rust and looks elegant? An extra hundred dollars wouldn't bother me if that's what it takes.

To expand upon my point, the most visible AK in your picture actually has an EOTech and an AR stock. It makes sense that the private market of enthusiasts in the US would produce better options than any government.

people only like russian gear for it's aesthetics

western gear is the GOAT for functionality, versatility, and build quality

How does Russian body armor compare to IBA, IOTV, MTV etc?

Whatever the case they just got socks a few years ago so they're obviously catching up. I bet the mutts are scared.

old soviet gear, mag pouches, ect are great quality.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... NO! Unless by better gear you mean Cold war holdovers still in circulation!

Worse than american, better than finnish

About the same. Kevlar flak vest surrounding torso and rifle plates over vitals. Russian plates are a bit larger and therefore heavier, but offer better protection. Not inherently worse or better.

IOTV is getting phased out soon(TM) thank fucking God

>AR stock

No, that AK is rocking standard furniture minus the EOTech and the rail adaptor used for it.

Zenitco furniture comes close in appearance to the 'tacticool' furniture that looks like an AR, but no stocks the Russian Armed Forces use are compatible with any form of AR buffer tube.

You are right. I thought that the curvature on the top of the stock was an AR buffer tube.

I think you probably mistook it as one of the new AK-12s recently accepted into service, it has a stock that looks like it was derived from an AR stock design. For all I know the place that looks like a 'buffer tube' will most likely be used as storage for cleaning devices. Stock has a folding mechanism too.

pic related btw.

That’s not an AK-12 or AK-15, that’s an AK-74 with KC’s modernization package. (not even an AK-74M, has a fixed stock rear trunnion)

The upgrade kits replace the rear sight, dust cover, stock, grip, handguards, and muzzle brake of existing AK-74s, AK-74Ms, or AK-100 series to give them many of the modern AK-12/15 features.

Hahaha. Ahahahahahahahaha
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAha AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
BWAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Yes

The fact is that there's still a massive disparity in low light optics should tell you that the answer is conclusively, no.

Yes. It also actually works.

Why do people hate the Interceptor? Is it because it's gigantic?

No, but it's very cool looking and still very effective at what it's supposed to do.

>Russian gear is better than western gear
No, but it has seen a lot of improvements since the fall of the USSR.

Stupid middle-of-the-chest velcro closure. The side-entry of the uotc was a step in the right direction, but the kdh plate carrier was the best in early teens us armor systems as far as sensible donning and doffing.

But that's if you trust Russian build quality on the plates. Not sure I'd want to bet my life on that.

Western gear > Russian Gear ~= Chinese actual military gear > the kind of export only chinkshit that surplus stores are full of these days.

The quality is pretty good for the price, but you can do better if you don't mind spending more. Or at least it would be without all the sanctions; some Russian shit is ludicrously overpriced in the US.

>has an EOTech and an AR stock

Implying that isn't a Valdai pg-210 or a variant there of, combined with some sweet Zenitco swag.

Russian gear isn't the best but it is just fine. Prove me wrong.

pro tip, you can't.
