a bubba can buy an 870 express at walmart for $250 and in most places walk out with it the same day because it is a longarm. A low end rifle combo comparatively is going to cost $100 more.. and he doesn't have another $100 in his pocket.

At my range (or the range I used to go to until I discovered a super-ultra-secret public land shooting spot) it's the Mexicans that show up with a clowncar full of kids who then proceed to all cycle through a single 1911 or something of the sort. Good on you, man. In my experience, Hispanics are a hit and miss. You get some who just don't really care about anything and act like idiots (which is basically a cultural norm for them), or you get guys who are just as smart as any normal person. It's really interesting when you see it.

I got this never ending hard-on for cheap shotguns. I can't help it. They're my weakness and while everyone has something they like but aren't particularly proud of for me it's finding cheap shit to bolt on to a low-cost shotgun.

Lately I am scratching that itch with a Rock Island M5. So far it's $129 in the gun, $118 in the shit I'm slapping on it with probably another $75 to go. Then because I can't help myself I'm probably going to have the whole thing cerakoted.

Because they have a cheap as shit price of entry and the power of 00 buck has endeared itself to trailer-trash for generations.

If you're talking about an O/U, then yeah. Your only choices seem like the Turkish guns or clapped out Silver Pigeons. I've been looking at getting a sporting O/U (not trap specifically) since I got the bug. Clay shooting really clicked with me after I shot a charity sporting clays event. I was using a 21" Benelli M2, which was far from ideal. I bought a used 30" Browning BPS for cheap, until I save up for something semi-nice.

I love shooting trap with my Vepr 12. I put a half-choke on it which also extends the barrel a few inches.

There's nothing more fun than outperforming fudds with their $10,000 double barrels with a 'commie streetsweeper'
