So that gets them what exactly? The Navy's recipe for West Texas chilli?

In the grand scheme of things, why do i feel like 600gb is a bit small for official government files regarding the Navy?
>600GB
That's a lot of sexual harassment powerpoints.
A serious guess. Acoustic profiles of many US submarines.
Depends on the contractor. Mostly I'd guess PDFs: contracts, spec sheets, white papers, development powerpoints, a LOT of meaningless salesman tapdancing bullshit. Maybe possibly some design schematics and product output. Equipment test results and analysis. This is how China does R&D half the time.
based on which subcontractors the data are based from. A lot of information of subsystems.
Probably Newport News
hypersonic missile program data that was not classified
>Imagining a literal army of chinemen sifting through the bullshit that is on your company servers
Motherfuckers are dedicated, I'll give them that. 90% of company documents are filler or procedural bullshit, 600 GB just sounds like a whole lot of PDF's and useless presentations, planning and other horseshit.
imagine the look on a chinks face when he finds a folder labeled USS Carl Vinson armor scheme filled with 90 encrypted libraries
and then the look when his boss opens them only to find hours upon hours of furry porn
>West Texas chilli
Mmmmm...yummy.
China stole it from a contractor at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island.
I’m stationed at the clinic there, know a few people that work at NUWC. I haven’t had a chance to talk to any of them about it, whatever they could discuss. I’m sure they’re having to sit through hours of “training” that beats the dead horse of handling data properly.
>they steal the biggest file they could fibd
>it was just some degenerates furry porn collection
Chinks BTFO again
Gubment been scanning all the owners manuals for everything into the computer dating base. I doubt that's what they got but dunno.
600GB of dolphin porn
WMAF porn. That'll piss off the Changs.
I bet it's like 300gb of reciepts for mallots and screws all digitized in full color at 6000 dpi. And 300 gbof porn labled mallots and screw reciepts
It tells them ALOT actually. file structures, install paths. past connection history, dns names, Ip's... They can dig in so far to a drive and learn tremendous ammounts of things
I think it would make a decent passive security measure. Every file is bloated to ridiculous sizes to make them difficult to steal.
>implying the U.S navy has tech worth stealing.
fucking chinks
anyone caught helping them should be put to death
Why the fuck does China keep stealing our shit and nobody fucking cares?? I swear when I'm president, I'm going to nuke those slant- eyed bastards for every single little screw they copy off of one of our ships, tanks, aircrafts, ect. Until they get the memo
how many thousands of text pages of information do you think a gigbyte can contain? A low estimate of 600 gigabytes of purely pages of text is over 3-4 billion pages, or just shy of 1 million pages of pictures.
There's probably blueprints and pics and whatever as well, not just text.
it would be ridiculous otherwise
Yeah.
>I am dropping buzzwords to sound smart: The post.
The "dns names" and IPs arent secret, thats security-by-obscurity and frowned upon; the IP ranges assigned to organizations (such as US govt or mil) are all publicly audited. Install paths? This likely is a open FTP server, not your Windows 10 gaming rig, and install paths are irrelevant. Information on whats installed is relevant and valuable for future attacks, but thats not mentioned by you nor likely in the scope of the stolen data. Past connection history to what exacty, their porn browsing history? Again not in the scope and not that relevant (See IP-is-public blurb above). File structures, not even sure what this means, but actual data is far more valuable than knowing the syntax of their files.
Most like what was stolen was just big .zip files containing PDFs and presentations.
it's probably just some dumbass shit like how to not get ran over by a forklift and not to download porn on the company network.
>whoops didn't mean to post that trap ass
fug I was hoping nobody saw (its me)
So, is someone's head going to be put on a stick or will this be ignored?
Because America isn't a country anymore, it's a shopping mall where anything happens and nobody gives a fuck unless it comes out of their pocket.
Stole or bought?
> be ignored
When was the last time Government fired one of their own?
Does the US do ebin hax or are they better at getting away with it? Is it safe to assume everybody's hackin' everybody?
You're an idiot trying to sound smart.
Of course.
Man we ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait until it gets to the point identity is meaningless because there is no way to prove who you are from so many data breaches allowing everyones personally identifiable information to be available.
>Just wait until it gets to the point identity is meaningless because there is no way to prove who you are from so many data breaches allowing everyones personally identifiable information to be available.
that's already happened.
give it 10 to 20 years, if you think all of the "hey, you know those elite that have been ruling us for 3 decades? they're all pedophiles" shit going down now is bad, just wait until we have an entire generation of people brought up openly broadcasting the fact that they're child sacrificing satanists running for office.
it's going to get to the point that we're going to have a 2016 election worth of shit happening every year.
i'm seriously expecting us to go full scifi dystopia or full blown eternal reich by 2060. there is no way that the normie public is going to accept the "your entire worldview is false and every person attempting to gain power is almost certainly a rapist/child molestor"-pill without going mad. it's bad enough already, we have a new york real estate developer as president, voted in by rednecks. just wait until the normie public has no way out.
>a single sexual harassment power point
NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think data breaches have been to a significant enough extent yet to have that level of earth shattering consequence, but overall I'd agree it has basically happened.
The other stuff... well IDK about that. I think it is more likely we will see some sort of economic meltdown once almost everyone's jobs can be eliminated through automation.
Honestly, china trade is frozen on only two points( assisting nork, and huweii cell phones!!!!! Supposed Chinese secret spy device( legal domain sharing) us-china! ( my wife owns a huweii) anyway illegal cyber spying point" no joke"
>I think it is more likely we will see some sort of economic meltdown once almost everyone's jobs can be eliminated through automation.
i don't buy the automation meme. we don't have human level AI and probably won't for at least the next 60-100 years, so the impact is going to be limited to whatever jobs can be done with a couple of shell scripts and some PHP. that will take out most normie office drones, but it won't impact skilled workers in dynamic environments, ie most well paying jobs.
i'd be more worried about the current flood of "do i look like i know what a jay-peg is" """coders""" being pumped out by universities and coding bootcamps. when they all discover that knowing the absolute basics of python doesn't qualify you for a $150k coding job, they're all going to crash and burn horribly. that's more pressing than the prospects of automation taking our jobs.
Yes there are definitely tons of retards coming out of college. I've worked with a number of firmware programmers that couldn't find their desktop to save their asses.
I think you underestimate that normies account for most of the working population. My experience is that the majority of jobs require a warm body and experience is needed only to avoid training. I wouldn't even call myself a normie but I'll be fucked come that time. Fuck even McDonald's is automating their ordering system because people suck and computers are cheaper. That is the tip of the iceberg IMO.
I think human level AI is much closer than that. Almost everything these days is contributing to teaching computers, just look at the captcha to post... 20-50 years is my guess, maybe it'll be sooner.
I think the physical manual labor jobs that cannot be done by a machine will stay for some time though; I wonder if a sufficiently durable and human like machine will happen before or after AI. I'd bet before.
>I’m sure they’re having to sit through hours of “training” that beats the dead horse of handling data properly.
Infosecfag here, it'll be a series of 30 minute powerpoint lectures they won't understand and will immediately ignore. Source:
I have to give those lectures after clients get breached because Sally from HR wanted to watch cat videos on her cell phone full of malware she had the sysadmin she was fucking put on the company network
. Most people pay zero attention and go back to doing what they were doing before.
Companies will set up a multi layered defense network that costs them six figures, then if you try to tell them they have to be twice as careful as they were being before and follow new protocol, they get supremely pissy that the hardware won't magically make them not retarded.
This is some of the weakest more piece of shit worthless bait I've seen in a damn long ass time, you should not only be totally ashamed of yourself but by god please leave this fucking website and headbutt an incoming train.
Is that ios 4 lmao
Well, thanks to the negligence of our contractors, China has reached parity in SHARP
Because
A) everyone does it. It you took serious action you'd go to war with almost every nation simultaneously
B) its impossible to prove. When people say hacked by china they actually mean they're guessing China did it. Cyber war is basically impossible to trace
None of this is good.
We should be safe and assume they got good info, that's bad for us.
They probably lazily mirror archived entire computer hard drives like most people. So hundreds of gigabytes of delinquent webcache folders and system32 from 2010. Horrible to think about.
>West Texas chilli
Is that with or without beans?
Anyway, it's probably no information they haven't already bought from the Israelis.
