>He followed it back to where he and Nelson were standing before he realized that not sll of the blood at Nelson's feet was the animal's. He looked at the puddle forming under Nelson's left arm before he made any attempt to speak.
"Nelson, let me get a look at that arm, I don't want you losing it."
>"Huh?" The man muttered, something approaching sanity finally returning to his face.
"You got fucking insane on that thing, dude, I've never seen anything like it."
>Kyle glanced to whatever it'd been that he ripped off the animal, and saw that it was in fact, its jaw.
"Holy shit! You ripped its JAW off!"
>"Yeah, uh... Can you clean and bandage that? I don't wanna do it one armed."
"Sure."
>"Also, can you shoot that thing a couple times? Just make sure its dead."
"Yeah."
>Kyle turned and raised his rifle, flicked the selector to auto, firing ten rounds into the animal in a burst before following Nelson to the medical tent.
>While Kyle got started on cleaning Nelson's wounded hand, and arm, he heard a groggy voice outside the tent complain about cold sleeping bags and "fucking shit buildings."
>"Guess Molly's up. Just took a little gunfire and the better part of a day." Nelson remarked
>Kyle heard the sound of Lowa boots being laced, footsteps wondering about. A gasp in the distance.
>"Why is there a disembodied JAW here!?"
Kyle called out, "You wouldn't believe it if I told ya!"
>"Hey, Kyle, I'm not gonna have to go home already, am I?" Nelson asked.
"I don't think so, but lets get a second opinion from the nurse."
"Hey, Molly! I need yoyr opinion on something!"
>"Coming."
>Molly walked into the medical tent and saw the Nelson's tattered arm.
"Think he can still shoot and do shit?"
>"Well, not now. Maybe in a week, he might, but for now, he's pretty fucked up. Judging by the shape of his right hand, that's gonna need some cleaning at least, but for now, I don't think he should doing anything heavy."

"Thanks, now go eat something and get some water in you, we gotta hold the camp until the others get back, in case there's anymore of those wolves out there."
>"Okay." Molly said, turning and walking out, giving an unattentive wave as she did.
>For a moment, Kyle looked at the spot where she'd been thoughtfully.
>"Don't think too much of it."
Twenty minutes later.
>Kyle watched from the gap between the barricades as the others who'd gone out to search the ruins came into view.
>They all stopped to marvel at the wolf like creature, tumbled over in the dirt with no jaw on it, and twelve bullet holes.
>Kyle watched as Emma and Andrew seemed to glance at each other, as though sharing a thought and communicating through telepathy. A perturbed thought, but the same thought nonetheless.
>The group continued into camp, settling themselves into various areas. Somewhat spread out from each other.
>Kyle decided to search out James in the corner of the camp he'd settled into.
"Jimmy!" Kyle challenged.
>"What's up, Kyle?" James asked.
"How long have Andy and Emma had their heads together?"
>"I wasn't aware of any such thing. I've just had them bringing up the rear for about the last forty minutes of our walk in."
"Right. I'd be careful with them. Could lead to some bullshit. When are we going out next?"
>"If you're feeling up to it, tomorrow. I noticed you two have gotten back up."
"Yeah. Tomorrow then. I'll keep my eye out too, but I want you to be mindful of who goes where when everyone gets back. Could lead to some bullshit down the road."
>"Right. I'll keep an eye out and an ear open."
>With that, Kyle turned and began walking out of the tent.
>"Hey, Kyle. Is Nelson going to have to go back?"
>Kyle stopped just short of 'out of sight, out of mind.'
"It's ultimately up to him, but he's got a few minor lacerations to the right hand, and major lacerations to the left hand and forearm. Wouldn't be a bad idea, even if I doubt he wants to do it. On the other end, in about a week he'll probably get almost full use of his hand back."
>Kyle once again turned before being interrupted.
>"Hey. Why shouldn't we keep an eye on you and Molly too? You two seem to gravitate toward each other."
"Never said you shouldn't. Point of fact, you probably should." Kyle responded over his shoulder.
>He waited a second or two for any further reply, but heard none, and promptly walked away.
>He walked to the camp entrance and took a seat as he just stared out at the wastes beyond the barricade.
"It's gonna be a long fucking month." he thought to himself.
