Will the Brit's new frigate be any good?

Bullshit stat, there's no need for a 18000 km range frigate, that's like three continents worth. OHP has 10,000 thats more than enough. I would say having 0.01hp/t versus the Type 31 0.005hp/t (two times less!) is more important because it can get under way faster, and maneuver far better.

Type 31 is basically a destroyer that is armed like a corvette.

>I can't understand why this patrol/GP frigate has the capability for long-range patrols
You're an idiot, you know what speed Burkes do 95% of the time? 12-13 knots. Exchanging some fantastic range for a marginal speed gain is a pure gimmick.

>I'm not seeing a towed array
Not gonna make it.

I'm not talking speed, I'm talking twice faster ACCELERATION. If it takes you two times longer to change your direction, you're going to be fodder for missiles AND cannon.

And why does range matter if after travelling 18000km to the battlefield this shitty "frigate" only brings a corvettes weapons to the fight?

How many times does this need stated?

THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL SHIP EQUIPMENT FIT

This is a fucking blogs opinion based on what they feel is likely on the opinions of the people who make the fucking equipment. Of course they aren't going to mention things that don't belong to them. Why do you think it's all fucking BAE/MBDA kit? Because thats the only people they asked.

Jesus fucking christ Jow Forums.

That in an emergency a Chinook can land on the frigate if it needs to. It's good to have the capability.

>arguably the best marines
Not really. They're amphibious light infantry with organic air-mobility and a doctrinal emphasis on arctic and mountain warfare. Yeah, pound for pound they're surprisingly capable in their doctrinal niches, but they're also only 8,000 men at maximum operational strength including reserves and their most significant form of fire support is a regiment of 105mm howitzers from an Army unit that historically deploys alongside them.
