I mean, a bowie knife to the liver will leave you dead in a couple minutes and bleeding in the lung is probably a death sentence but you still have a couple seconds before your cells run out of energy.
Your blood still holds enough oxygen for a few seconds of life and even when the oxygen is gone you've got some cellular energy in your tissues. As long as you've got most of a brain and spine you could plausibly keep fighting.

That's more or less what I was getting at. Only CNS is a literal instant fight stopper. I've wondered to what degree do you keep consciousness from a spine hit, do you stay alive and see but since your body is gg you just wait for the blackout from blood loss/heart stopping, or is it an instant blackout.
