Fighters' careers are short enough already, nobody's gonna sign up if they're one dirty move away getting blind, sterile or injured to the point of never fighting again. The people who'd sign up for such a thing are not gonna be talented fighters anyway, so it's just gonna be low quality brawls anyway.

Although from a spectator's viewpoint, I must agree, despite being very satisfying to practice, the striking portion of MMA can be incredibly boring (except for the crazy shit that connects). Grappling at such a high level is very entertaining, and takes a ton of skill and intelligence.

ill take the bait. adding eye gouges, groin stomps, pipe bombs or anything that is likely to cause permanent damage will shorten the career of the athletes tremendously and chase away the mainstream following. this will lower the skill level of the participants over time. what you end up with is not good for the athlete or the viewer. what your krav maga teacher tells you is bullshit.
