People saying lifting is not a real sport

Its because video games are a sport whereas powerlifting is not

I don't think people that say lifting is not a sport think videogames are one.
Then again, people think archery is a sport so...

Literally no one says this.

esports require skill, teamwork and brains

Weightlifting is gay

archery is a majestic sport

If golf is a sport, archery is a sport.

I agree
Fortnite is the same lavel as chess.

Video games arent considered sports they are still just esports, just people forcibly trying to classify as sport, the subject is still widely argued people want to be sport and others not.
You're a count OP go lift some weights instead of shitposting on a shark shooting enthusiasts image board

fortnite isnt, but actual esports games like SC2, CS and assfaggots are above chess

>count
Count of mt.cunt

>video games

Skill, strategy, intellect, reaction, decision making, savviness, game knowledge, communication

>lifting

Me lift heavy thing up, me put heavy thing down

>video games

sitting in a chair playing video games for kids every fatass or 3 year old kid can

As a an ex-gamer please don';t make out that video games churn out Napoleans and Pattons. Video games are simplistic dopamine factories for dunces.

Brainlets never played anything competitive on a pro level thinking their opinions matter.

how is archery not a sport?

Lifting doesn't take any skill. Any dope off the street can be taught proper form (i.e. "here's how to not harm yourself" training) in less than a month and then after that just eat + sleep + progressive overload on repeat each week until they can pick heavy shit up. Assuming you aren't a little bitch, your body literally does all the work for you. I think of competitive lifting along the same lines as those people who go for retarded guiness records like "most hotdogs eaten while jump roping in 60 seconds". Great, you did it. Excellent accomplishment. You spent months training to become a bloatlord who can rainbow his spine looking like a preteen gymnast girl doing a back walkover, to make it as easy as physiologically possible to quarter rep bench press a couple hundred pounds in a spandex victorian-style swimsuit, once, like a fag. Awesome, do it again, I bet you won't. Now go online and tell everyone who's desperate to find a routine that will make them LOOK good to do SS or whatever bloatmaxxx shitprogram of the month is most popular now amongst the spandex warriors. Cool. Fuck off. Picture has never been more related than it is for this post.

Gamers...it’s time to rise up

running or swimming also doesn't take any skill. everybody can run or swim. it's still sports. i don't see faggots like you complain about that.

That's like saying chess is a sport. Sports don't require brains which you don't even need for most vidya. Not to mention powerlifting requires knowledge of proper form rigorous training routines proper diet and effective programs. Gaming is just mashing a few buttons.

sports is about competition. Lifting by itself isn't a competition, unless you do it competitively. But just for fitness, it's not a sport

Surely there will be no force on earth that can resist your high-endurance thumb muscles.

they are both sports but powerlifting doesn't draw crowds so it's not a professional sport.

how the fuck is that bar just floating mid air on the right?

all sports sans martial arts are games + conditioning

therefore liking these games is for children

stop liking it

who are you competing against? powerlifting and bodybuilding are sports but the lifting and training are not

Vidya isn't in the Olympics though

Strategy in those games is second to reaction time and quick thinking, so it could be considered more of a sport than chess, which is all about strategy.

>everybody can run or swim
there is a lot more technique to learn at swimming and running than at lifting

>sitting in a chair vs standing in a room
huge amount of difference there mate

This is one of the dumbest conversations anyone can have. It's completely arbitrary. IMO anything that requires time, practice, and competition is a sport

they are introducing it for the next games or something

Neither are sports u faggots

Agreed, they are both hobbies. If a bunch of niggers arent good at it, then its not a sport.

sports usually implies that you are going face to face with other people
lifting, like golf, is a competition of skill or strength

(you)

So is MMA and nobody has a problem with it

>inb4 but muh stratey before the fight

Sure but with bad reaction times you are gonna get KO'ed or tapped out in the first round

It's not a sport it's a skill. Swimming, running, archery, and weightlifting are just practical skill competitions. Sports are just are just physical games against an opponent requiring a myriad of skills.

so more than half of the time i'm watching the olympics i'm not watching sport? are you retarded by chance?

To be a sport things have to be physically demanding. Even darts are more physically demanding than videogames. So those people are retards.

A sport in my mind is anything that is physically and technically difficult where you can stop your opponent from beating you, that isn't based on the subjectivity of others.

Races and shit wouldn't count because you can't stop someone from beating you other than by being better yourself. ie Lifting isn't a sport and neither is ice dance
