Lifting doesn't take any skill. Any dope off the street can be taught proper form (i.e. "here's how to not harm yourself" training) in less than a month and then after that just eat + sleep + progressive overload on repeat each week until they can pick heavy shit up. Assuming you aren't a little bitch, your body literally does all the work for you. I think of competitive lifting along the same lines as those people who go for retarded guiness records like "most hotdogs eaten while jump roping in 60 seconds". Great, you did it.
