CHEAT DAY

How often do you guys cheat?
If never, how do you maintain sanity?
I do it once every two weeks and honestly it seems to spike my metabolism up

Would expanding the time increase my metabolism, or just put my body into weight saving mode?

Every day unironically, I have 3 healthy meals and I end up with sweet like ice cream, cookies, or pastry to exceed my daily callories and bulk up

Sometimes my friend wants me to go out to a restaurant so I'll get a chicken breast there with mustard sauce and three big shrimp with some honey glaze and some sauteed broccolini. It's not perfect, but it's not awful.

Typically after a period of time, you get one day where you don't eat bland, boring, and low cal food, but instead gorge on multiple high calorie or hi cal foods. Like pic related.

Once every two weeks get a big dirty cunt of a fucking chinese; roast duck in cantonese w/ fried rice and a separate tub of special fried rice.

once I get actually big will cheating be less detrimental to how I look? I can't imagine the physique of would suffer much from getting fatter (unless he lets himself go completely, blaha style)

Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Something fat before and after drinking.

The shit you feel like afterwards, hardly makes it worth, I mean seriously, if you cheat like this your mind is fucked. if you cheat it should be with something that although is reasonably portioned inevitably doesn't fit your diet. Like maybe a sack of M&Ms.

What's your TDEE and post body? I can't imagine how intense someone must be to HAVE to supplement their daily meals with ice-cream (caloric nuke) and cookies to exceed it.

Once a week, usually on Fridays or Saturdays. A day of fasting puts me back into ketosis usually, so it's no biggie.

I don't know what a normal person would have to do to get to this point but it works for me. For example set your goal as "eat 0 carbohydrates". Then you feel like you want to cheat so you allow yourself to cheat by eating an apple with some peanut butter. Or 200 calories of ice cream if I'm feeling frisky.

I still get the psychological rush of cheating and the craving satisfaction but without the "eating an entire large pizza" part

I have weekly cheat days. Borderline daily cheat days. I eat whatever I want, in moderation. The biggest difference is I go hard when I lift weights, and I spend just as much time on the treadmill/ assault machine as I do pumping iron. An extra hour a day running is chump change when you're able to eat what you want and not obsess over calories

i dont cheat anymore, I just make sure whatever i eat is at a deficit. If I want pizza I get it but i eat under my tdee. So i don't ever cheat in the way that i go over my TDEE

It's just what works for me, having all out cheat days would turn into cheat weekends then cheat weeks. I'm psychologically unwell with food and this is the only way for me to maintain progress.

I´ve been experimenting a lot lately writing all weight fluctuations up since july. I´ve lost 6 pounds, but my aim was not to "diet" per se.
5 days of eating ketogenic diet and OMAD + training.

2 days (Saturday, Friday) eat what the fuck you want. I mean really dirty stuff: surplus calories, carbs, as much you can fucking go. During those 2 days you still have only 8 hour eating window, so it is not like waking up 6 am and snacking till midnight.

I have lost 0,5 lbs per week consistently this way and this means eating lots of sugary shit, fats, carbs during those 2 days of refeeding. If I "cheat" 3 days, the weight stalls and does not go up or down.

i don't cheat. i count my macros. if i want to eat pizza at night, i reduce my carb/fats intake during the day in order to be more lax at night.

When you eat for performance health and longevity you don’t even need to track anything or have cheat days.

Cheat days to me tells me you don’t like what you’re doing and that you don’t really care about having an optimal body composition.

I have been lifting for 7 years now and eating good foods for my goals gives me good feelings. You need to learn to get that good feeling you get from junk food and start getting it from doing the right thing.

Cheat days and you orgasming over junk food is not healthy for you mentally, you’re training your brain to see that as awesome and positive and training your brain to see the right foods you need as an annoyance that you have to tolerate and put up with. That’s a bad way to live.

I admire your dedication, but it's bullshit. Salty foods and snacks work the same as orgasms, just like you said. So does that mean it's bad to have sex? No. But it's detrimental to your health if you continuously masturbate.
The only bad thing about cheat days are when you binge. But substituting your favorite foods or cooking methods once in a while is not a bad thing; it's a treat, just like sex is. Moderation is key.

Often, after a really intense workout, i'll have a stack of pancakes. It feels like cheating but its feeding and healing my muscles.

How do you count calories in pizza and shit? I just assume everything is 400 kcal/100g (it usually is, specifically between 320-450 kcal/100g) and go from there. I rarely cheat though, maybe once a month and only for social gains.

Today I had some mac and cheese, half a chicken pot pie, and a slice of banana cream pie. Might get a burger later if I'm hungry.
Tomorrow I'm going out drinking with friends and we'll likely get pizza if not chinese food.
