cottage cheese is made from milk(duh), the liquid is whey, when they make dry cottage they do so by pressing out all the whey
so adding milk to curds is like paying them to remove the whey and adding it back in at your own expense.
usually dry is more expensive because it's more processed but if you say it's cheaper where you live, that's fine.
