Of these twenty-three finalist North American cities, sixteen will host 2026 FIFA World Cup matches. Which seven cities are unworthy and thus should be eliminated?
Of these twenty-three finalist North American cities, sixteen will host 2026 FIFA World Cup matches...
Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto.
all the american countries, please don't bring that shit here
Calicornia can get the fuck out of here. They are on fire and they are already screwing over the poor.
Atlanta, Nashville, Kansas City too for being hicksville.
Boston for having spaghetti roads
DC for being a shithole all around.
comedy answer
This.
Mexico is the only one of these three countries that cares about soccer. Let them have it.
Its already being joint hosted by /cum/. Never followed Soccer but apparently yeah different cities hold different games but in a semi-central location (in this case, the continent of North America)
look at how cute the canadian capacities are :3c
So the big 3, not even Puebla? I also thought Leon and Queretaro were big enough nowadays
lmao Mexico's not much better outside of Mexico City. Then again Canada is first world.
If we cut out the dinkiest stadiums, we cut Toronto, Guadalajara, Edmonton, Monterrey, Montreal, Orlando (suck it Orlando), aaaand.....Cincinnati.
Canada and Mexico are locked in, the 7 to be cut will all come from America.
What do you think the mascot will be? Probably an animal present in all three countries. An eagle?
>2026
With all the hype I thought it was happening a lot sooner than 8 fucking years from now.
>Implying Canada and Mexico are not also America given the fact they are North American.
Sombrero-wearing bald eagle that drinks maple syrup.
Sounds cool make it a Bald Eagle but dancing on a cactus and eating a snake. Also the cactus has maple leaf on it
are people going to post mean things about our cities like they did with brazil?
Cities in states that voted for Trump should not be hosts to World- anything, they obviously don't want any of it.
Therefore that eliminates Kansas City, Cincinnati, Philadelpia, Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas and Houston.
In that case, Orlando, Kansas City, Nashville, and Baltimore are no brainers.
But Tennessee (Nashville) is probably the most pro-Trump state of any of them.
Nashville itself is blue as fuck.
As is literally every city outside of Oklahoma
>soccer
It eliminates Miami, Nashville too so you have to put 2 back.
Nobody in the USA really "wants" soccer here I think the Trump test is kinda goofy tho
Fwiw Football is popular in Boston and California
Only Latinos can call it futbol, sorry bub
Apparently, soccer is most "popular" in Atlanta, at least in term of game attendance:
theguardian.com
Who knew?
What did they do In Brazil? Links, source?
>all the american countries
iirc they talked a lot abotu "favelas" and how the "favelas" needed to be cleaned up:
newrepublic.com
Thats all I remember
>west coast USA has the same chances as the entire of Mexico
How, mexico is the only one worth having the World Cup
Apparently those 3 for Mexico and Canada are guaranteed and now there need to be 10 for USA.
Doubt they'll put 3 on West Coast, probably spread them out a little bit to keep the athletes on their toes.
KC user here. NONONONO
Oh wow, there is more than one word for something, and that fascinates the country with two words for Saturday (Samstag and Sonnabend).
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Prepare for lot of bullying, spic, especially when you will be in the shadow of two first world countries
I hope you suffer lof of bullying from your spic brothers. Mexicans and Chicanos were the most anmoying posters from world cup and olympic games in /sp/
Too bad they will not bully Caribbean spics too
all North American cities should be eliminated. preferably by thermonuclear devices
>2 (TWO) Cities in Shitlifornia
>Giant bullshit cluster in the Northeast
>Cincinnati (wtf) repping the Great Lakes states
>Random bullshit through flyover.
>2 (TWO) Cities in Florida
>2 (TWO) Cities in Texas
Where the fuck is Chicago??
????
>Guadalajara has the second smallest stadium
well guess we are fucked now, only advantage is that the city itself is bigger than Monterrey and it would be logistically easier to have the games in Mexico city and Guadalajara than in Mexico city and Monterrey, no way they are cutting Estadio Azteca is our most important stadium
All of them. Give the World Cup to Morocco.
It's a fucking joke that Mexico and Canada only gets 3 or 4 group phase matches and then the rest of the tournament is on the US.
Fuck off with that bullshit. Give us an actual WC or nothing at all, not this "scraps off the table" bullshit.
They opted out due to costs, same with Vancouver.
we only have 7 stadiums currently big enough for world cup matches, and of those some like Estadio Jalisco are big but old, Estadio Azteca is old but was recently renovated, hence its diminished capacity they went for less sits but more quality.
Realistically we would need to build at least 7 more stadium and do some mayor work in some of the big capacity ones.
Currently those 7 stadiums there are 2 in Mexico city (not counting a third one of 50 thousand currently under construction) 2 in Guadalajara, 2 in Monterrey and 1 in Puebla, so construction proyects wouldnt go in our mayor cities they would go to lesser ones that have no need for stadiums that big.
Its just not worth it, its dumb to go in massive financial troubles to build things that will go underused or abandoned.
Regional bids are the way to go for any country except the USA (they could host it exclusively in college stadiums and still do it in venues of no less than 60k capacities) that wants to host the world cup
Oh ok makes sense thanks man
hahahaha shut the fuck up
This unironically
I only really have a problem with Kansas City and Baltimore
both stadiums in those cities are under 40 thaudand people capacity, so no they wouldnt make the cut.
plus both barely break the 1 million population
>Implying Canada and Mexico are not also America given the fact they are North American
Huezillian detected.
I can understand Canada is a small country (population wise) but why does Mexico have so few big stadiums? Is it just a 3rd world thing?
>Is it just a 3rd world thing?
partially yes
also we dont really have that many big cities, out of the 120 million mexicans around 30 millions live in the metro areas of Mexico City, Guadalarara and Monterrey.
in total theres only 11 metro areas with populations over 1 million, so yeah lots of people, but not that much density, hence not a need for that many big stadiums
