Russians offered peaceful solution to the border issue beacuse Finland was too close to St. Petersburg, Fins rejected and then they had to learn it the hard way. Of course, as time showed, Russians were right because Finnish pigs are not to be trusted and having such an important city so close to them is a big problem.
