Be my country

Lutefisk is shit but lefse and krumkake is pretty gud

Okay, I thought you would give some examples instead of a potato based pancake and something we learned from Italians.

America has the land for mass cattle beef production, and with their cultural fixation over machoism and being a man who lives off the soil, they like their steaks simple without sauces or frills. Plus the beef is good quality and not used for labour much, so their marbling is much better.

That wasn't me, but you guys make great cheeses and cured meats. I love pickled herring, and fish in general.

That's really stupid to say, there are about 30 countries in Europe alone that are better at making cheeses and cured meats so I don't really understand where you are coming from.

Great to me implies that it's something that is of high quality compared to the rest of the world. If Norway makes 'great' cured meats I wonder what category you would put Spain or Italy in.

Kind of a meme where its marketed as the "Mans meal".
I mean steak is pretty good, but honestly I havent eaten steak in years because I dont really feel like spending a shit ton of money on a 1 lb piece of steak when I can just buy and entire 4-5 pound chicken for 1/4th the price.

It's because northern Europeans mostly settled the US and they were Protestants who associated really rich, decadent foods with Catholic degeneracy. If you were to compare Louisiana Cajuns who do have really rich, spicy, saucy dishes.

With tough meat, you can cook it like civilised people by making it into rendang. I can eat raw vegies but any meat eaten raw is barbaric.
