No, those come after all the merry men.
First there's Miklavž (Saint Nicholas). I usually got mandarins and walnuts for that occasion. That's in the beginning of december and is the traditional gift giver and most popular among the religious.
Then there's Božiček (Santa Claus), on the 25th. He used to be a thing among urban middle class families, both Slovene and German, back in the 19th century but since the end of communism, he's a normal thing for everyone.
Then there's Dedek Mraz (Grandfather Cold), the communist gift giver. The date for him varies but the official one is supposedly the last day of december. He's the default if you ask most people who lived during socialism.

To expand on that, you see Miklavž and his procession of angels and krampuses (parkeljni) walk through villages (and cities, but that's a watered down commercial affair), stopping at a lot of houses where they get food and drinks (ESPECIALLY drinks). You can hear the shouting of the parkeljni from far away and that's really something special. Kids obviously hide when that happens but if anyone, child or adult, is spotted by them outside, they might harass him, tie him up and make him pray.
Dedek Mraz is mostly associated with organised gift giving. Back in socialism, they had lots of companies and schools organise it so that all children would get gifts and it's still organised by a lot of them to this day.
